Summary:

The local residents have been protesting against its condition. After the corporation completes its works, the irrigation department is also planning to launch a project worth Rs 25 crore to revive the canal. The results of this work did not reflect for long as the canal soon turned back into a garbage dumping spot. RITES study had recommended that the encroachment along the canal may be evicted urgently to ensure the smooth passage of flood water. It is the confluence point of cities’ canals like Ulloor, Pattom and Pazhavangadi canals..
