EC comes out with handbook on green protocol

Thiruvananthapuram: The election commission and Haritha Keralam Mission jointly came out with the rules on how to observe green protocol for the upcoming general elections in the state. As per the newly released handbook, plastic should be avoided in all kinds of publicity material, including for the boards, banners and flags of political parties.The protocol suggests that cotton clothes and paper should be the primary material for designing publicity materials. It also suggests that natural materials like bamboo, coconut leaves and other similar materials can be used. The candidates have been asked to ensure that all the materials that have been used for publicity are collected, segregated and properly disposed..
