Venkitachalam added. The department should consider setting up a separate enclosure on 60 acre of degraded forestland of the Kurichiyad forest range under the sanctuary, exclusively for releasing captive elephants. They raised the demand in the wake of an abortive attempt of the Forest and Wildlife Department on Sunday to translocate the captured tusker to the Parambikulam Tiger Reserve in Palakkad district..
