Man held for running prostitution ring

Trichy: Police arrested a 39-year-old man on charges of operating a prostitution racket and rescued two women from near Trichy on Tuesday.The accused was identified as S Rajasekar, from Anaicut village in Vellore district.According to police, Rajasekar was running the prostitution in a rented house in Ponmalaipatti. Rajasekar was arrested and was remanded in judicial custody.The two women were sent to government protection home in Trichy. The team led by city police commissioner A Amalraj questioned Rajasekar and arrested him.The accused allegedly confessed to running the racket in a house in Ponmalaipatti. He admitted that he had forced the two women from poor family backgrounds into in prostitution. After Ponmalaipatti native M Chandrasekar filed a complaint against Rajasekar, a police case was registered and investigation was initiated.Police said Chandrasekar, who was in a street of Ponmalai on Tuesday, was allegedly approached by a person offering him sex for cashHowever, Chandrasekar informed the police about the racket and an investigating team headed out to nab him..
