5,000 trucks off roads on day 1 of strike

Trichy: As many as 5 ,000 trucks in Trichy district remained off roads on Friday as part of the nation-wide agitation called by All India Motor Transport Congress (AITMC).Though the first day of strike called by the truckers’ body did not impact the supply of essential commodities, truck owners said that intensity of the ongoing stir would be felt in the coming week.
