TRICHY: In a synchronised penalisation drive, the Trichy City Corporation (TCC) on Monday collected a sum of Rs 98,600 as penalty from offenders who were caught using banned plastic products. The drive was carried out in all the four zones.Four teams comprising sanitary officials conducted raids and seized around 638kg of banned plastic products, mostly plastic carry bags that were less than 50 microns in thickness.“The surprise inspections went on for about four hours in all the commercial streets.
