Police deny permission for AIADMK demo

Trichy | Tuesday | 25th September, 2018

Summary:

Separate petitions were given by K.

Baskar, AIADMK Pudukottai town secretary, to the Pudukottai Town Police and Tirumayam Circle Inspector Office. However, the Inspectors of both police stations rejected permission sought by the AIADMK for the staging demonstrations at the three places. Police sources confirmed that permission was rejected and that the demonstrations did not take place as planned on Monday. Further, permission was also rejected on the ground that 30 (2) Police Act was in force from September 18 to October 3 in Ponnamaravathy sub-division. The AIADMK had planned to stage demonstrations on Monday to condemn the DMK for spreading false information and for their alleged slanderous remarks on Health Minister C.
