Community help desk opened at collector office

Trichy: A community help desk has been opened for the people to get information about the social welfare schemes of the government of Tamil Nadu and guide them to benefit from them in Trichy on Monday.Trichy collector K Rajamani inaugurated the desk at the ground floor of the collector office on Monday morning. It is aimed at enabling the public to access the information and get in touch with the officials concerned online through single window system.A staff has been deputed to handle the desk equipped with a computer and internet facilities. People can get the complete details of the social welfare schemes such as marriage assistance scheme, cradle baby scheme, girl children protection scheme and several other schemes.“The new facility will help people get their grievances redressed by talking to the officials in the head office and district offices,” said A Thamim Munisha, district social welfare officer (DSWO).Besides the social welfare schemes, the information about integrated child development scheme (ICDS) services, women development schemes and social defence will be displayed at the desk.Further, the contact numbers of government offices, old age homes, women’s hostels, and orphanages will be displayed to help the people with the information quickly..
