MGMGH keeps tabs on high-risk babies for 2 years

The follow-up programme is done at MGMGH on Wednesdays (for term babies) and Thursdays (for pre-term babies) every week. While around 30% of the cases constitute low birth weight babies, another 30% are pre-term babies. For high risk babies, parents are asked to directly get their children checked up at SNCU every week.The follow-up programme for babies include testing of weight, length and circumference of head, eye and hearing test etc. But since the children are closely monitored by the team of doctors, VHNs and anganwadi nurses now, no child is left out,” he said.
