Every officer was a vigilance officer to act within their schedule of powers and should act by applying wisdom in judgement and with proper recording of their decisions in the files.Various case studies were highlighted in the event to give a clear understanding of the importance of directions and procedure specified to prevent the corruption. TRICHY: The vigilance awareness week that concluded here on Saturday observed that the respective officers in railways should act judiciously to root out corruption and meticulously monitor all financial transactions as they involved public money.The awareness week was organised from October 29 to November 3, 2018, by Trichy railway division on theme: ‘Eradicate corruption-build a new India’.The objective was to create an alertness among the public and government employees through participative and pro-active vigilance management, to control corruption.Deputy chief vigilance officer Prem Chandra Harijan and deputy chief vigilance officer R K Meena participated in the seminar, sensitising the officers and staff on the subject.The officials and staff were told about the need for approaching every transaction in railways vigilantly..
