Pvt hosp staff told to follow protocol

A doctor made a detailed presentation about the protocol for dengue fever (DF) and dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF). Dean of Mahatma Gandhi memorial government hospital (MGMGH), Dr G Anitha, asked private hospitals to utilize the expertise of the senior doctors of the tertiary care hospital in fever management. The booklet had a detailed description about the treatment method for H1N1. Besides ensuring mosquito-free environment in the hospital, they were asked to closely monitor the patients and check blood pressure and pulse rate once every hour in order to track their health condition. He also talked about the three phases — febrile, critical and recovery — of dengue and insisted on holding the Tourniquet test on patients if necessary.Since the dengue and H1N1 patients remained vulnerable to sudden shocks, the doctors were advised to be more sensitive towards them..
