Trichy: Two farmers, allegedly depressed over the loss of their livelihood in cyclone Gaja, died of cardiac arrest in Tiruvarur district on Saturday. The other victim was Selvaraj, 55, a native of Edamelaiyur village near Mannargudi, who cultivated samba paddy on 5 acres. He was rushed to the Thiruthuraipoondi government hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. A stunned Selvaraj developed chest pain on November 22 and was rushed to the Thanjavur government medical college hospital where he died on Saturday.
