Trichy: The Trichy railway division has decided to establish 157 additional ATMs of nationalised, scheduled and commercial banks on railway properties such as railway stations, offices, training institutes and colonies. The respective divisional railway authorities have been empowered to select appropriate places in 65 locations across the division to establish the ATMs.The railway department is expected to invite tenders from the banks by the end of the week, official sources from the railway division said. The banks willing to install such facilities have been requested to coordinate with the concerned railway authorities of the respective stations. Currently, 22 ATMs are functioning from 11 locations in the Trichy division.The authorities are planning to increase the number of ATMs in such a way that will facilitate more number of commuters.
