Trichy: Three village administrative officers (VAO) were suspended in Ariyalur district on Sunday for allegedly attacking a revenue inspector and a deputy tahsildar. Following this, Karthikeyan and Gurunathan took up this issue with Sathyanarayanan, who suspended the three VAOs.Following this, several VAOs from Ariyalur district staged a demonstration outside Ariyalur collectorate condemning the suspension of fellow VAOs. They also alleged that the VAOs were suspended without proper investigation. Rayar ( VAO of Karuppur Senapathy), Prabhakar (Venganur) and Subash Chandra Bose (Kulamanickam) are the suspended VAOs.According to Ariyalur revenue divisional officer Sathyanarayanan, the incident arose following Rayar’s request for a few days leave.
