13 injured as jallikattu season kicks off in Pudukottai dist

Trichy: A total of 13 people, mostly spectators and bull owners, sustained injuries in the first jallikattu of the season in Pudukottai district held at Thatchankurichi on Monday. Some bulls started attacking the tamers leading to injuries to bull owners and members of the organizing committee handling bulls. Bull owners started gathering at the venue from as early as 4 am. According to police, a total of 453 bulls took part in the event and were tackled by 150 bull tamers who entered the arena in batches.
