During the inaugural day of the free health check-up at Ramalinga Nagar, as many as 150 people who visited the park for morning walk had their health indicators checked. This was done in as many as three public parks located at Thillai Nagar, Royals Road and Thennur Anna Nagar with the help of private hospitals. The corporation has been organizing free health check-ups since May 6, 2018 to help senior citizens to keep track of their health indicators such as blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), and blood glucose levels. Since a large number of senior citizens visit the South Ramalinga Nagar park near Vayalur road, the free health checkup was extended there by the corporation on Sunday.On an average, at least 500 people per park a month were believed to have made use of the health camps in the three parks since last year.
