TNCSC yet to pay dues: Farmers

Despite the devastation caused by Cyclone Gaja, paddy farmers managed to safeguard their standing samba crop. Thanjavur: Farmers from Thanjavur district who sold paddy at the direct procurement centres (DPCs) opened across the district have complained against non-payment of dues for more than 10 days. But farmers from Thanjavur alleged that there has been a delay of more than 10 days to get money from DPCs. They have appealed to the officials to disburse the same immediately.The Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation (TNCSC) had opened 416 DPCs across Thanjavur district for the benefit of farmers who raised paddy during this samba season. However, farmers from Thanjavur have not been getting money for the last 10 days..
