MSU’s sci faculty gets Rs 2 cr grant

The department has received Rs 36.30 lakh worth grant for the year 2017-18. MSU’s syndicate members recently approved the grant during their meeting.At the same time, the Department of Microbiology of Faculty of Science has received a grant for recurring expenses of MSc teaching programme in biotechnology from DBT. The department has received support for its biotechnology programme from DBT since its inception in 1985. Vadodara: M S University’s Faculty of Science has bagged two grants worth Rs 2.21 crore from the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), government of India.DST has sanctioned a grant of Rs 1.85 crore to strengthen the post graduate teaching and research facilities under the ‘Fund for Improvement of S&T Infrastructure in Universities and Higher Educational Institutions (FIST)’ programme.The grant has been sanctioned for the duration of five years to the Department of Biochemistry of Faculty of Science..
