Fear of Chandipura virus looms large

During the meeting it was discussed that the number of suspected cases of Chandipura virus is likely to increase. As of now, there are enough medicines to treat patients that are admitted at SSG Hospital. Also, it was decided that no suspected or confirmed patient should be discharged as carrier till his or her treatment gets over. If the number of cases rise, we will arrange for more stock of drugs,” he added.All hospitals have been asked to appoint nodal persons for monitoring viral encephalitis cases related matters from the Department of Pediatrics.
