Fourfoot long croc rescued from Lalbaug

After nearly two hours of effort, the crocodile was rescued at around 10 pm.According to experts, the crocodile seems to have ventured into the storm water drain from the Lalbaug lake located next to the Lalbaug garden. Vadodara: A four-foot-long crocodile was rescued under Lalbaug Bridge by a team of wildlife volunteers and the forest department on Saturday night.The crocodile was rescued from a storm water drain located under the bridge and adjacent to the campus of the National Academy of Indian Railways, formerly known as Railway Staff College.“We received a call from locals at around 8pm about presence of a crocodile in the storm water drain that passes near the slum area beneath the bridge,” said Jignesh Parmar of the forest department.A team from the department and volunteers from the Gujarat Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA) had to drag the crocodile out of the storm water drain..
