UTS app for ticket booking to be released today

Vadodara: Now, passengers need not visit booking counters of the railway stations to purchase an unreserved ticket.The Western Railway (WR) is all set to release the unreserved ticketing system (UTS) on mobile app for Vadodara railway division with effect from Monday. Mobile ticketing is already available on WR's suburban stations. Options for both paperless and paper ticket that can be printed through automatic ticket vending machines are also available.“While there will be dedicated customer care facility on 138, ticket payments can be easily made either through inbuilt ‘R-Wallet’ or through other digital payment apps,” said the official.“The inbuilt R-Wallet can be easily recharged from all suburban UTS booking windows as well as online on website www.utsonmobile.indianrail.gov.in through any debit card, net banking and UPI mode,” the official said. Also, trained staff will be available on helpline number 138 to attend and resolve the problems, if any, faced by the passengers.According to officials of Vadodara railway division, the main objective of introducing the UTS app is to encourage digital ticketing mode.In order to promote mobile ticketing, an additional bonus incentive of 5 % will be given for every recharge of ‘R Wallet’.“All stations of Vadodara railway division of Western Railway will have the facility of online UTS app available,” said Khemraj Meena, public relations officer of Vadodara division.“Western Railway has appealed commuters to patronize the use of UTS mobile ticketing app and avail the enhanced benefits attached with their use,” he said.All unreserved and season tickets can be booked from the UTS App, which also has ‘quick booking’ option..
