Nobody from Kashmir police has resigned says Rajnath Singh

VADODARA: Union home minister Rajnath Singh has called the reports of resignations of special police officers ( SPO ) of Jammu & Kashmir police as baseless.Singh, who was in the city on Saturday to offer prayers at a Ganesha pandal in Dandiya Bazaar, told reporters that nobody has resigned from Jammu & Kashmir police. Singh was referring to recorded videos of at least seven SPOs announcing their resignations through social media.The videos were posted after Pakistan-backed terror group Hizbul Mujahideen threatened to kill Kashmiris working for state and central governments if they did not quit their jobs. “Whatever steps that were needed to be taken have been taken and we will continue to do that in future as well,” Singh said.During his visit to the Ganesha pandal of Shrimant SVPC Trust at Dandiya Bazaar, Singh offered a gold and diamond-studded ‘pitambar’ which was made by the trust to the Ganesha idol. “Indian Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Jammu and Kashmir police personnel are working in good coordination with each other,” he said.About mutilation of a BSF jawan’s body after he was killed on international border recently by our enemies, Singh said the government will do everything for the self-respect of the country. Three SPOs were abducted and killed on Friday by the terror group in Shopian district of south Kashmir.“We should wait for now and the situation will become stable there in coming days,” said Singh adding that, “I cannot reveal publicly how it will be done.”Singh said controlling terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir is major goal of the central government..
