Land acquisition gains momentum in Gujarat

The total project-affected households in the state comes to nearly 8,400.Land needs to be acquired in 196 villages of eight districts of Gujarat including Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Anand, Kheda, Bharuch, Surat, Navsari and Valsad.“The joint measurement survey (JMS) of 143 out of 196 villages is completed. It is worth mentioning here that the bullet train project is the only one such project where those who agree to provide their land through consent award will get 25 % more compensation based on the jantri rates.“Once, we discuss the compensation awards for those villages who have expressed their readiness for consent awards, we will directly acquire their land,” said Ahirkar..
