Houses burgled almost daily during Diwali vacation

Thieves had also checked other closets in different bedrooms in Shah’s house as all valuables were lying scattered on the floor. Police had claimed that they will identify the houses which will be closed during Diwali holidays and intensify patrolling in those areas. He told police that the iron safe had a silver idol of Lord Ganesha, several ornaments of platinum, diamond, gold silver and pearl which was all worth Rs 10 lakh and a small silver box. The silver box contained cash amounting to Rs 6.4 lakh.Police said that the burglars had entered Shah’s house by breaking the lock of the front door.It was just before Diwali that cops had drawn up plan to curb burglaries. Shah stated in his police complaint that thieves had broken the door of wooden cupboard in his bedroom and had taken away an iron safe which was fit inside.By evening Shah rushed to Vadodara and informed cops about the incident..
