Fire safety check must for Vadodara malls

Vadodara | Saturday | 15th December, 2018

Summary:

The space is so narrow that a fire tender cannot enter the buildings. The PIL also took up the issue of parking and claimed that a cinema hall with more than 500 seats is required to provide certain parking space i.e. They have not left mandatory margin spaces on three sides of buildings making it almost impossible for the fire services to address any emergency. The committee will further inquire whether adequate safety measures have been adopted in these buildings to meet with any emergent situation, whether they have enough parking space for visitors and will probe whether the constructions are in violation of any GDCR norms. The basements are meant for parking, but people are made to park outside the buildings and this aggravates parking woes.Following the proceedings in the HC, the Vadodara collector formed a committee inclding a sub-divisional magistrate, executive engineer, deputy town planner, and town development officer to survey these buildings. 40 cars per 100 seats..
