Kalabhavan gears up for lsquoParamarshrsquo

Vadodara: Budding engineers of M S University’s Faculty of Technology and Engineering are all geared up to host Paramarsh – the three days national level non-technical fiesta.It is for the 18th consecutive year that the Kalabhavan campus will be hosting Paramarsh – the biggest of its kind fest in the entire west zone. It is scheduled between December 21 and December 23 this year.“The main motive of Paramarsh is to improve and cultivate soft skills of students, to help and innovate them for their future ahead,” said Ashutosh Parmar, a student organizer.“Keeping this in mind, we have different events including guest lectures and workshops for students to participate. The fest will end with a concert by Bollywood singer Mohammad Irfan.This year, the students have selected an innovative theme ‘Montre De Binge’ which is based on Hollywood television and web series.Considering this unique theme, many students have prepared designs based on iconic Hollywood television series depicting genres like comedy, drama, horror, thriller and action.“The visitors will be able to enjoy the unique decorations which have been prepared with 2D and 3D characters, flex drawings and there will be more surprises to give complete essence of TV shows,” he said. This year, Dr A S Kiran Kumar, former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation will be giving a guest lecture,” he said.“We will also have Bollywood directors and screen writers including Anjum Rajabali, Shriram Ragavan and Sumit Arora who will visit the campus for delivering guest lectures,” said Rushabh Shah, another student organiser.“This apart versatile artist Amit Mistry who is known for his work in both Bollywood and Gujarati cinema and Mitra Gadhavi, Gujarati film actor will be the judge for ‘Goonj’ – a street play contest,” he said.The students have also included a new segment ‘Caesura’ which will comprise of two categories – Stand up comedy and story telling.“Students from fields other than engineering like management, commerce and even school students can take part in this segment to display their talent in stand up comedy or story telling,” he said..
