JEE Main 41 city students score 90 and above percentile

Vadodara: Nearly 41 students from the city scored 90 and above percentile as the National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the results of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 1 on Saturday. JEE Main 1 exam was conducted by NTA between January 8 and 12 in two shifts per day.Seventeen-year-old student Aryan Mehta scored 99.94 percentile. “I will be focusing on the board studies as well as JEE (Advanced). Nearly 6,500 students hailed from Vadodara.This year was the first time that NTA under the Ministry of Human Resource Development had conducted the JEE – the exam for admission to undergraduate engineering and architecture programmes at NITs, IITs, other centrally funded technical institutes, institutions funded by participating state governments and other institutions as well to be eligible for JEE (Advanced).An aspirant can take both the tests – JEE (Main 1 and Main 2) and his or her best score will be taken in account in the final merit list. When you are preparing for JEE (Advanced), you automatically prepare for JEE (Mains),” said Marmik.Marmik, whose father Daxesh works with Reliance Industries and mother Nimisha is a homemaker, is hoping to pursue computer science studies from any of the top IITs.Like Marmik, another city-based student Shantanu Baxi too scored 99.89 percentile while Aditya Iyer scored 99.88 percentile.According to private coaching institutes, nearly 12,500 students from Vadodara and neighbouring districts had registered for JEE Main of which nearly 11,000 had finally appeared for the exam..
