Death toll touches 14, 24 more test positive for H1N1

VADODARA: As many as 24 patients tested positive for the swine flu on Sunday even as the death toll due to the deadly viral infection touched 14 with the death of a 30-year-old woman.The woman from Bhoj village of Padra taluka succumbed in a private hospital at 8:50am.Of the 24 patients who tested positive, 20 are residents Vadodara city while one patient each is from Vadodara rural, Panchmahal and Narmada district and one patient from Madhya Pradesh. The guidelines for influenza vaccination have been shared with all the states and the details of manufacturers of vaccine provided by the Drug Controller General of India have also been shared with the states where the number of fatalities due to H1N1 virus are on a rise. Of this, 56 patients have been cured, 72 are undergoing treatment while 10 died.Within the VMC limits, the new cases have been reported from Manjalpur, Warasiya, Tarsali, Wadi, GIDC Vadsar Main Road, Sama Savli Road, Harni, Waghodiya Road, VIP Road, Vasna Road, Karelibaug, R V Desai Road, Raopura and Chhani areas.In Vadodara rural, a fresh case surfaced in Vemali village of Vadodara taluka while the patient from Panchmahal district hails from Jambughoda..
