Three held for burglary in furniture trader’s house

It was Taherwala who had planned the burglary in the house of Shabbir Mahudawala on January 21. Mahudawala was away in Khambhat with his family members to offer prayers at a tomb, when the trio broke into their house. Police said that the trio initially denied any role in the burglary, but when they were interrogated separately, their bluff was called. The accused had stolen gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 1.2 lakh, Rs 3.5 lakh cash and a mobile phone from the complainant’s house.During interrogation, Taherwala admitted to his involvement in 22 crimes including burglary and theft from parked cars.
