VADODARA: Aggrieved by the unsolved problem of seating arrangement in the district court complex, lawyers in the city will initiate an indefinite fast from Monday.The Baroda Bar Association (BBA) called a meeting in this regard on Saturday and passed a resolution to protest against the high court’s unfulfilled promise.BBA office-bearers said that the chief justice of the Gujarat high court and the unit judge of Vadodara district had given their consent to provide five additional rooms equipped with 378 tables and a room on the ground floor for senior citizens.However, several days have elapsed since and the HC is yet to provided any answer to the district court in this regard.The lawyers’ body has decided that the office-bearers and lawyers will hold symbolic fast from 10.30 am to 6 pm indefinitely till its problem is resolved.The association has decided to go on fast so that the court proceedings are not disturbed and litigators do not have to return home empty-handed.Last month 75 tables were placed in the allocated rooms and 225 lawyers were selected for the tables on basis of lottery ..
