Day after clash, MSU forms probe committee

Vadodara: A day after M S University's Faculty of Commerce witnessed clashes between members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), the university formed a twelve-member committee.The committee constituted on Friday has been formed to frame guidelines for smooth functioning of varsity's academic session and for the conduct of students' union election of 2017-18.The campus had witnessed ugly scenes on Thursday when the two student groups clashed during the admission process at the faculty. While the committee has been asked to frame guidelines, it has also been asked to suggest code of conduct for students' union election.The committee has been formed under the convenership of professor R C Patel, dean of Faculty of Education and Psychology and has syndicate members professor R G Aiyer, Satyakant Shashtri and senate member Dharmendra Shah as members.It also has Dr Beejaysinh Rathod, president of MSU Students Union and Dr Satyajeet Chaudhari, former president of the union as members apart from Dr Shagufa Kapadia from Faculty of Family and Community Sciences, Dipendrasinh Jadeja from Faculty of Arts, Dr Shamal Pradhan from Faculty of Commerce, Kapildev Shastri from Baroda Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, P P Kanani, MSU's security and vigilance officer and assistant registrar Mayank Vyas as members..
