VARANASI: Three persons including a BJP worker Murlidhar Verma , his wife Priyanka and one Ajit Yadav were reportedly sprayed with bullets by some assailants near Hahanala area under Ubhav police station in Ballia district on Monday morning. On declining assailants opened indiscriminate firing on the couple.A passerby Ajit Yadav was also injured when he tried to save them. One Jamaluddin has been taken in police custody for interrogation. They were taken to a nearby hospital. Police are also trying to find out if there is any role of one Ram Asre who killed Verma's brother and who is now lodged in Varanasi jail.The assailants were pressurising Verma to withdraw statement in his brother Premchand Verma's murder case..
