GORAKHPUR: A notorious criminal who was absconding from Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh for the last nine years, has been arrested by police. According to SSP Shalabh Mathur, NSA took action against a resident of Kushinagar , Brijesh Pratap Singh, in 2008 in Gorakhpur. He had hid himself in the guise of a seer.District police had announced a bounty of Rs 25,000 on him. On February 2010, he was taken to Gorakhpur court from Devariya jail in a murder case, but somehow he managed to flee.Police arrested Brijesh from Pipraich railway station on the basis of a secret information. He was staying in different locations, including Nepal and Bihar , for the last nine years.Meanwhile, police acted on a tip off and arrested him from Pipraich.Police also seized a country-made revolver from him..
