Red car which ferried Deoria shelter home inmates seized

GORAKHPUR: The Special Investigating Team (SIT) probing Deoria shelter home case has taken shelter home manager Girija Tripathi on a three-day remand and also recovered her red car mentioned by the inmates in their statement, on Monday. A forensic team from Lucknow has also taken sample from inside the car.On August 5, Deoria police raided Ma Vindhyavasini shelter home at Station Road and rescued 23 girl inmates. SIT inspector Brijesh Kumar Singh told TOI that the red car was owned by Girija Tripathi.“The SIT team during investigation found that red car of shelter home manager Girija Tripathi was the same mentioned by some of the inmates in their statement,” he said, however, refusing to reveal anything more about the car.Meanwhile, a forensic team from Lucknow took sample from inside the car to corroborate the versions of the inmates.Apart from Girija, the SIT has also taken her husband Mohan and their daughter Kanchanlata on remand for interrogation.The team broke the seal of the shelter home on Monday in the presence of officials and five-member forensic team from Lucknow and took samples from inside..
