Tradition continues in city, camels sacrificed in open

In Salempura area, two camels were sacrificed on two consecutive days.However, the organising committee associated with camel sacrifice reportedly contacted offices of magistrates concerned to get formal permission. The district administration and police ensured strict compliance of traffic restrictions on city routes to avoid disturbance during the period of namaz. People offered namaz at 289 mosques and eidgahs in the city. Maximum gathering was witnessed at Laat Saraiyya, Englishialine, Faatman, Langra Hafiz and Gyanvapi mosques. But ADM city Virendra Pandey said, "As the tradition is continuing for more than six decades and its records are maintained in 'thana register' (record registers of police stations concerned) there is no need to take permission from magistrates..
