Vijayawada: Implementing railway board’s orders, Vijayawada railway division introduced the ‘Train Captain’ concept in the Vizag-bound Ratnachal Express on Thursday. During the journey, Train Captain stays in touch with the other service personnel and ensure that they discharge their duty promptly and efficiently. In trains like Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Duronto and other trains where a train superintendent (TS) is on end-to-end basis, now the TS shall be nominated as Train Captain and made responsible for all the facilities on train. The complaints taken up from commercial control office through Twitter or helplines would be directed to him for redressal.Other trains like Telangana Express, Venkatadri Express, Sachkhand Express, Palnadu Express, Tirupati - Secunderabad Express and Rayalseema Express too has Train Captain service introduced.
