Christurajapuram main road too gets inundated regularly with overflowing drains and locals are unhappy with the civic body.Officials of VMC Engineering wing say that overflowing drains are quite common in the rainy season and they are taking necessary measures to clear them. Officials who completed the works a month ago have blatantly ignored to restore the roads, she added. Overflowing UGD lines has become prevalent in Eluru Road, Suryaraopet, Moghalrajpuram, Gunadala, Christurajapuram and other areas in the city and is become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.The situation has escalated to such a level that the roads start resembling like lakes even if the city receives a drizzle. “We have identified the overflowing drains in various locations and a huge flow of drain water from hilly terrains is the main reason for overflowing drains but we are replacing the main line in Suryaraopeta which will be a permanent solution for the problem,” a higher official of VMC said..
