South Central Railway antilittering drive 850 commuters booked

“The anti-littering drive has been an attempt to sensitise passengers who refuse to mend ways and litter the railway premises. Besides, we teamed with the members of various NGOs to holdcampaigns on cleanliness in railway premises and trains,” said a railway official. We have conducted around 10,590 interactions with passengers in a bid to change their attitude. Officials constituted various teams to conduct 94 special inspections on different trains under the zone.According to sources, the railway authorities have installed around 2,550 additional dustbins at the stations where the drive was carried out. The railways have collected fines to the tune of Rs 2 lakh in the few days of the drive that also saw participation from various voluntary organisations in the state..
