According to information, the government had appointed additional commissioner K Ramachandra Reddy, a senior official in the municipal administration department, as in-charge commissioner following a request made by a TDP legislator. The senior officials in the GAD realized the folly in the late hours and advised municipal administration principal secretary Karikal Valaven to name Joint Collector AMD Intiaz, an IAS officer as in-charge commissioner of GMC. Sources said that the decision to make Ramachandra Reddy as FAC was also taken following the pressure from the legislator as it enables him to clear the files with financial implications.
