Faction feud: TDP worker hacked to death in Kurnool

KURNOOL: Tension prevailed in Kurnool district after a ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader was brutally hacked to death by a rival group. The murder is already being labeled as 'faction violence'.The victim, Someswara Goud, is an aide of deputy chief minister KE Krishnamurthy. Later the group of men ruthlessly hacked Someswara Goud to death using sickles and other sharp pointed weapons.The 45 year old TDP leader was killed on the spot while his son was wounded in the attack.The cops, who reached there after being alerted about the brutal murder, shifted the body of the deceased to the Pathikonda government hospital for postmortem. Goud is also TDP mandal vice-president.He was returning home along with his son after closing down his wine shop at Devanakonda late on Friday night when he was attacked by a group of unidentified assailants.According to Devanakonda SI AC Peeraiah, eight unidentified men who were waiting for the right time to strike, waylaid Someswara Goud and his son near Palle Doddi-K Venkatapuram village and blinded them with chilly powder. Based on the complaint lodged by Someswara Goud's son, a case has been registered and the cops have laid a hunt for the accused involved in the brutal murder.Though police confirmed that there were no pending cases against the deceased, the involvement of a political-rival faction group is suspected in the murder of the TDP leader.Meanwhile, Aluru TDP in-charge B Veerabhadra Goud and other leaders of the ruling party condoled the family members of the deceased.They assured them the police department will bring the culprits to book..
