Vijayawada: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced that financial assistance for farmers under ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ scheme will be increased from Rs 4,000 to Rs 9,000. The decision will put an increased burden of Rs 6,360 crore, from the earlier Rs 2,760 crore, on the state exchequer. The decision was taken at the politburo meeting held at Naidu’s residence on Saturday. This is in addition to the Rs 6,000 assistance announced by the Union government for farmers holding less than 5 acres of land.
