“Spending Rs 10 crore on Jnana Bheri in each district is nothing but pouring money down the drain. “The students will be explained about the state government’s vision of making AP a knowledge and education hub. Students from AU, Indian Institute of Management-Visakhapatnam, Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Centurion University, Gitam University and affiliated colleges of AU will participate in the programme.CPM Vizag city secretary Dr B Ganga Rao termed it as ‘Political Bheri’. At this juncture, such programmes make no sense other than as a political strategy of the chief minister,” he alleged.HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said the programme is being conducted with an objective of imparting global competitiveness among students. The government will spend about Rs 10 crore on the programme in each district, which is expected to continue for 4-5 months.The initiative, which was launched in SV University on August 4, will be next held in Andhra University on August 20..
