Leaders work on gaining political mileage

Visakhapatnam: With assembly elections just a few months away, ministers and leaders of political parties camping in cyclone-affected areas of Srikakulam district seem to be looking at gaining political mileage out of people’s sufferings. Many areas in Visakhapatnam district and some places in the city too received rains in the afternoon. “I came to know through newspapers that ministers, including the chief minister, camped in the Uddanam area comprising Palasa and surrounding mandals. Some villages in Laveru mandal received 57mm rainfall on Monday. Sources said some leaders were even seen distributing cash to people in some cyclone-affected mandals.Among those camping in the area are ministers K Acchannaidu, Kollu Ravindra, China Rajappa, Prattipati Pulla Rao, Kalava Srinivasulu, Srujanakrishna Ranga Rao and Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy..
