Commenting on the development, Ajay Jain, principal secretary (energy, infrastructure and investment department), AP, said, “This will fulfil the dreams of the Telugu diaspora in Singapore and be a great convenience for our investor and business community.” Low cost carrier IndiGo on Friday announced plans to operate non-stop flight services twice a week to Singapore from Vijayawada’s Gannavaram airport jointly with the Andhra Pradesh government.Flight 6E-33 will operate from Vijayawada on Tuesdays and Thursdays, departing for Singapore at 6.20pm and arriving at the destination at 1.45am (Singapore time, next day) whereas Flight 6E-34 from Singapore will depart for Vijayawada at 2pm (Singapore time) and arrive in Vijayawada at 4.15pm..
