Ganja smuggler attempts to kill self inside the courtroom

Magistrate Nagarjuna convicted Appala Naidu and five others for 14 years imprisonment and one lakh rupees fine each in a ganja smuggling case. Sub-Inspector of Kothakota Police Station told the media that Appala Naidu attempted suicide after the conviction. Severely injured, Appala Naidu was admitted to KG Hospital in Vizag city where he is battling for life and his condition is said to be critical. Once the judgement was pronounced, the convict took out his pocket knife from his shirt and slit his throat.The magistrate and advocates looked dumbfounded by this sudden gesture.
