HPCL ordered to pay compensation

The forum asked the oil company and the insurance firm to pay the compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the complainant, besides medical charges. He was rushed to a private hospital where he paid Rs 72,876 for treatment.Meanwhile, the city police and fire-service personnel visited Ramakrishna apartment and examined the LPG cylinder. As he removed the valve cap of the cylinder, it suddenly began to leak. The order comes after a year’s battle for justice.In October 25, 2017, Ramakrishna, a resident of Gowrinagar and lecturer in a private college, received burn injuries while he was replacing his empty LPG cylinder with a new (filled) one. They alleged that mishandling of the cylinder was the cause of the accident..
