Proposal to authorise AP Coastal police to soon file cases under IPC

VISAKHAPATNAM: The central and state governments are actively considering a proposal to authorise coastal police stations to register cases under IPC sections. It’s been an ongoing debate for some time now, whether to empower the force to implement sections of IPC,” coastal security police DIG Sattar Khan told TOI. The aim was to strengthen coastal and marine security along the entire Indian coast comprising of 13 coastal states and union territories which have 12 major ports and 200 notified minor and intermediate ports.
