No Araku Utsav, say tribals

Araku: Members of various political parties and tribal associations staged a dharna at the Tribal Museum here on Tuesday against the state government and threatened to stall the Araku Utsav if GO 97 regarding bauxite mining was not cancelled. Tribal association leader Killo Surendra alleged that the state government has been planning to excavate bauxite and for that it has planned to conduct Araku Utsav. "Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been cheating the tribals," he accused.He further alleged that till date, there has been no development in the Araku region. They demanded that the government cancel the bauxite GO and take up development works in the Visakha Agency..
