VISAKHAPATNAM: Reacting to Sunday's incident in which an IndiGo flight had a narrow escape after hitting a wild boar during take-off, the Air Travellers Association said the wild animal must have sneaked into airport through a breach in the airport's compound wall.The city airport has a 16.5 km-long compound wall to protect the entire airport which is spread over an area of 790 acres. The runway of the airport is about 3km.O Naresh Kumar, vice-president of AP Air Travellers Association (APATA), said he visited the airport on Monday evening soon after hearing about the incident. "It is a major security issue for the airport and the travellers. This should come as an eye-opener for authorities and they should improve the security at the airport," Kumar said.Authorities should immediately take steps of removing debris, bushes and other unsafe factors on the airport premises, Kumar said.Speaking to TOI, Vizag airport director G Prakash Reddy said they have already written to the Airport Security Unit regarding the insufficient number of staff..
