The 11th edition of the Indian Premier League is just around the corner and teams are gearing up for another action-packed encounter. There are a lot of new faces this time around and one such is talented Sandeep Lamichhane, Nepal’s first cricketer to be drafted by an Indian Premier League franchise.

The leg-spinner was picked up by the Delhi Daredevils in the auctions earlier this year for the base price of 20 Lakhs

The youngster was handed the DareDevils jersey with the number 1 by the Nepal Sports Council Member secretary Keshav Bista.

"I cannot take the number 25 from my seniors, as the birth date of my deceased Nephew falls on January i.e. 1, so I took the number for the jersey and we always want to be number one for which I took the number," said Sandeep in regard to his choice about the number on his jersey.

The 17-year-old has been one of the key players for his country in helping them achieve an ODI status recently. The leg-spinner was engaged in International duties for Nepal after playing World Cup qualifiers from Zimbabwe and will be heading to India next week for the 11th edition of the IPL.
